Sorry for the late update. I was waiting on a lot of things for the September update that didn't come through, so I'll be posting September's now and October's in a couple of weeks.
Secret Societies Art
To keep you guys up to date, the main choke point for getting books out is art. I've been talking to a lot of artists, trying to get what we need for our Secret Societies book. Unfortunately, the con season booked everyone up tight, so we weren't able to get any artists started until late September/early October. We've got art on the way for Secret Societies, and I've got two color sketches from our artist. Just to give you an idea of what we'll be looking at for chapter headers.
The way all this works is: I send the artist a description of what I want to see, and the artist sends me a color sketch for approval. I give any notes, the artist writes those down, and if I like the general composition and style, we move forward. So, without further ado, here are two color sketches for Secret Societies. The first is for Knights of the Rose and Cross and the second is for the Rilasciare.
And remember, these are not the finished art, but sketches for approval. I'll be posting the finished art once it hits my inbox (by the end of the month).

Free Adventure for Greg Stafford
If you've followed my game design career for any amount of time, you may be familiar with my adoration of Greg Stafford. Greg was a storyteller, a shaman, a game designer, and a friend. I once said, "If there was no Greg Stafford, there would be no John Wick." Greg replied, "That sounds like damning with faint praise, John."
I loved Greg. And on October 10, Chaosium is celebrating Greg's passing with the hashtag, #weareallus. We're also releasing an adventure for each Chaosium line (Pendragon, Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest, and 7th Sea). The 7th Sea adventure--The Sword of Kings--tells the story of what happens when the Explorer's Society finds the lost sword of Avalon, Caledfwlch. I can assure you, there will be consequences. Of course, "Caledfwlch" is one of the ancient names for another famous sword (give it a Google), which is my tip of the hat to Greg.
It's a one-night adventure for any group of 7th Sea Heroes, loaded with personalized GM advice from myself. What's more... it's free!
All the adventures released on October 10 are free for you to download and play. This one is on us. All we ask is you download them and play a game to remember Greg.
Questions about Maps
More questions about maps have come up, so let me re-iterate the schedule. As soon as all the maps are done, Chaosium will send them out in one package. It's the most economical solution to a very daunting problem. We're waiting on a few more maps to be finished before we can send them all out, but once we do, I'll let you know.
