A place to find players. I am thinking something that may use the "Vote/Poll" template. A GM will name a campaign in the special Forum Location (I will make one for this), and then players show interest by voting "yes" if they want the GM to consider them.
I am also reviewing an interesting chat client like Facebook Messenger, but need to investigate to make sure it does not annoy forum users. ;-)
Thinking about this GM/Narrative play idea and running with it, beyond the "Seeking Players Poll," I may, if time allows over the weekend, enhance our Blog section into an Adventures section.
This will include the Voting Module, better Image uploaders, maybe rudimentary Charactr-stats and backstory, probably even a dice roller.
Would you like the running games open public spectators who can read but not comment? Or the option for closed sessions?
Question, and this isn't a value judgement since I've never used it, but people have mentioned using Roll20 for online play. Might it be better for people to use that instead of reinventing a lot of wheels here, or would the differences between Roll20 and "forum roleplay" be different enough to warrant the extra work here?
I have no dog in the hunt, as the saying goes, just bringing it up for discussion. There should still be a "looking for" thread for people who are looking for meatspace groups.
Thank you, Morgan Wolfe, "Rol20" is an excellent suggestion for integration. They have a documented API that I will investigate. It may allow the players here to see available Roll20 slots and probably allow our "Vote/Poll" of player-seeking-games to access the Roll20 system.
Roll20 does not have 7thsea2e rules but if the API is as good as it seems, we may be able to add to it.

Any volunteers to develop 7thSea 2e character sheets for Roll20?

No point in worrying about character generators until we have rules to generate them.
As for Roll20, I've been using it for a couple of years now for our group. The great news is the free client is very robust. To use the API, you need to be full subscriber ($10/month). But once you have a character sheet in place, you can handle an awful lot. If anyone has specific questions about running games on Roll20 I'll be happy to answer them.
